1932 Ford Coupe

I noticed pictures of this car throughout the Dave and Betty Donaldson’s collection. It caught my attention enough I did some homework. I am posting this in honor of what would have been Dave’s 98th birthday this month on the 25th.

This appears to be a 1932 Ford Coupe. 1931 started the painted radiator cowl but full production in 1932. In 1933, the radiators then dipped to a point on the bottom. Also, in 1933, with the fenders wrapping around front to the cowl.

I assume it was Dave’s since he is photographed with it. Then, the driveway in which it is parked also looks like his parents’ home in Ogden, Utah.

It is not original. It has had some custom work done to it. For example, the bumper is not original. The little extra piece in the middle with the side bars is not original. Neither are the additional lights on the bumper.

The wheels and hubcaps are not original. These are more modern 1940’s wheels. The moon caps also were a common custom feature.

The car was obviously a love. The different angle shots. I wonder what happened to it? How long did he have it? Might I still stumble on more pictures of it?

Is this one of the reasons Dad was interested in hot rods as a teenager and high school?
